The Armory Show – International Positioning for a New York Art Fair

About This Project

The Armory Show is New York’s premier art fair and a definitive cultural destination for discovering and collecting the world’s most important 20th and 21st century artworks. Founded in 1994 to present and promote new voices in the visual arts, The Armory Show has stayed firm to its mission while establishing itself as an unmissable art event set in the heart of New York City. The fair draws a broad range of national and international visitors, and is a firm fixture in US collectors’ diaries, welcoming over 65,000 visitors annually.

Over five years Brunswick Arts worked with The Armory Show to elevate and support its place within the city’s cultural fabric and the international art fair circuit. Our work included:

  • Devising international communications campaigns, drawing on The Armory Show’s uniqueness within the Fair landscape
  • Engaging key media to ensure profile raising for the Director and pertinent developments of the fair’s program
  • Securing tactical international partnerships to support its Asia and Middle East Focus, including facilitating China tour
  • Running multiple international press trips to visit and report on the fair
